About Hypothify

We're a team of clinicians, researchers and software developers on a mission to revolutionise digital infrastucture available to research students and professionals.

We aim to bring forward advances in software automation, machine learning and best-practices in user interface design to create the next generation of digital tools for research.

A national priority

In 2021, the UK government set out its healthcare research agenda in a policy paper; aiming to support research with new digital infrastructure and by capitalising on scientific advancements made during the pandemic. Part of this drive involves engaging more patients, increasing innovation and “ensuring all health and care staff feel empowered to support research”.

“Research is the single most important way in which we improve our healthcare – by identifying new means to prevent, diagnose and treat disease.”
UK Government Policy Paper, 2021.

Frictions in Research

⏳ Time

Many healthcare professionals simply lack the time required to start and see a research project through. By launching a project efficiently on the platform, you can build teams to drive projects forward. Saving valuable time.

📚 Experience

More junior professionals and students seek guidance and mentoring when it comes to research. Our matching algorithms can help users find projects that match their skills. Building stronger collaborations and ensuring everyone is on the same page.

🎉 Opportunities

Many healthcare and STEM organisations are comprised of thousands of staff, spread across multiple sites and working within specific teams. Which can make it hard to share and communicate opportunities to colleagues.

Impact of Research Engagement

Patients at research-active hospitals have more confidence in staff.

A study found that patients who were admitted to hospitals that conducted more research tended to be more confident in their care team and more informed about their condition and treatment.

Increased research activity is associated with lower mortality rates.

A retrospective study found that hospitals that conducted more research had lower mortality rates for acute admissions. [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29438805/]

Research-active hospitals have lower risk-adjusted mortality.

Welcome 👋
Here we'll take you though the additional features available to Admin Users.
To learn more about the general platform features take a look at the Hypothify Users guide above.

Admin Features
Admin Users have access to an additional tab in the navigation menu - the "Admin Panel".
Here you can access two tabs:
- The Analytics Tab: provides access to a dashboard which displays data about all approved research projects within your community.
- The Project Approval Queue Tab: is where you can approve and un-approve research projects - which in turn toggles their visibility in the Project Finder.

Approve / Un-Approve a Project
First, navigate to the Admin Panel, then select the Project Approval Queue Tab. This will display a table of all research projects within your community.
You can toggle between Projects that are "Pending" approval and those which have already been "Approved".Click the "Approve" button in the first column. The project will now be visible in the Project Finder and also in the "Approved" Projects section of the table. To Un-Approve a Project follow the same steps but select the "Approved" Projects option from the table dropdown. From here you can click "un-approve" which will remove the Project from the Project Finder and move it into the "Pending" table.A few seconds is sometimes needed for the system to process the request.

Deleting a Project
Admin users are also able to delete projects. This can be done by selecting the "Delete" button on the project card.
Note that this action permanently deletes the project and its data!
